Disco, house and soul nuts may be experiencing chaffage right now after rubbing they hands in anticipation of this nugget. Firecracker EP4 is a hot toddy to the ears, featuring he usual outstanding attention to detail on the sleeve artwork and vinyl pressing, and astounding production levels on the record itself from Linkwood, Fudge Fingas and House Of Traps. 'Barely Eagle' on the A-side is the massive slow-disco winner that's been getting repeat rotation from the likes of Trevor Jackson and The Unabombers, practically coming with a satisfaction guaranteed insert, but our favourite has to be Linkwood's edit of 'Who La La?' on the flipside, chopping and splicing a boogie bomb with stupendous synthline dynamics. Cop a copy and you'll soon know what I mean. This leaves Fudge Fingas to round off an already essential record with the Ra-indebted cosmic soul of 'Situation Diminished', just in case you needed any more reasons. Very limited. Very big tip!
